As part of the project Animal Mechanical and Me: The Search for Replaceable Hearts we are planning a series of focus groups bringing different people together to talk about what they think of using human, animal or mechanical materials to repair or replace human bodies.

One of the questions we are interested in is whether, if you had the choice, you would choose from an animal, mechanical or human source to repair one of your own body parts.  We want to explore how willing people are, some who may already have implants or transplants of various kinds, to think about other types of transplants and implants.
